AED Studios launches a new financing tool for film productions by inviting filmmakers to shoot for “zero cash” at their facilities. The offer combines the Belgian tax shelter and regional funding with a unique gap financing solution, allowing to finance 100% of the studio rental budget.
‘Zero cash studio shoot’ aims to further stimulate the dynamic Belgian film industry and to attract more international film productions to the region.
The country already offers one of the world’s most attractive rebates with the Belgian tax shelter (up to 45%) and the regional funds Screen Flanders, Screen Brussels and Wallimage who add another 10 to 15% of financing to the Belgian and regional spent. This has allowed the country to develop a solid and performant film industry over the past decade.
“Based on our experience with the specific needs of film production and film financing, we understood we could create a win-win situation for our region and filmmakers to spread the risk of their ambitious film projects” explains Glenn Roggeman, CEO of the AED group and owner of the studios. "The ‘Zero cash studio shoot’ financing solution is exclusive for films as those project are currently the most in need of closing the gap.”
The criteria to apply for the Zero Cash Studio Shoot are that the film must be a European co-production and 30% of the financing needs to be confirmed.
